Helping kids stay in school and prepare for life.

Why donate to CIS of Pittsburgh-Allegheny County? Because what we do is really making a difference!
At Communities In Schools, we believe it is critical to confront the local drop-out crisis head-on. Nationally and locally, almost one out of every three youth does not graduate from high school. We feel passionate that for the sake of our regions’ viability, we cannot ignore the seriousness of the problem and ripple effect that it has on our kids, community, and future. Allowing the drop-out crisis to grow or even maintain its current levels is unacceptable. You can help in the following ways:

  • Become an individual donor - currently CIS relies heavily on foundations, corporate, and government funding. To remain viable in the face of decreasing resources, we are working aggressively to increase our individual donor base from 1% to 20% over the next 3 years. Please join in our campaign to raise over $1 million to help at-risk kids by donating today!
  • In-Kind Donations - CIS seeks donations of items that enhance our ability to serve educationally-at-risk kids. Some examples include: student supplies, printers, Smartboards, digital cameras, video projectors, office supplies, and books for our library to name a few.
  • Sponsorships - Sponsor a student's education at one of our Academies.
  • Planned Giving - leave money, stocks, bonds or property in your will to CIS.

CIS is a tax-exempt non-profit organization.  Every dollar makes change possible!
